I just went to Geraardsbergen the other day to check it out, because I was staying nearby. At the tourist information I heard about the Mattentaart and on my way back down to the river, I walked past this bakery. I saw they made Mattentaarts and wanted to try them. Little did I know that this wasn't a bakery at all but in fact heaven itself. For the Mattentaarts they make here are, without a doubt, the food of the angels. I came back for more the next day but had to go back to Germany afterwards. But I'm coming back the next time I visit Belgium and so should you!
