Vintage Guitar World

For more than three years, I have been following Vintage Guitar World, exploring and listening to many truly outstanding instruments. During that time, I purchased two guitars—both of them excellent in every respect. A few days ago, I made another trip to the cozy town of Michelstadt and, of course, to Vintage Guitar World. My initial plan was to obtain a less expensive guitar... I had asked Heiko to prepare six guitars for me to try. Each one was a fine instrument in its own right. In the end, however, I decided to go “all in” and purchased a remarkable Gerundino built in 1988. It is a truly exceptional guitar in every sense. Owning and playing an instrument by a luthier of such stature is a real honor. I had an excellent experience buying a 2000 Martin D-28 from Vintage Guitar World. Heiko was extremely patient and responsive, and he provided detailed photos of the neck, saddle, and action at my request. This gave me full confidence in the structural health of the instrument. He answered all my questions quickly and clearly, making the entire process very smooth. The guitar was packed safely and arrived in Berlin within 48 hours. It came in great shape, with comfortable action, a healthy amount of neck relief, and a tall, future-proof saddle. I’m not a Martin expert, but I’ve tried a few over the years — and this one plays and rings fantastically. Great service, trustworthy communication, and a beautiful instrument. Highly recommended!

There are very obvious risks involved in making a substantive investment in a guitar on-line.
